First grade students are learning how to build and break down numbers with up to three digits. They are learning the value of the numerals in the hundreds, tens, and ones places. Why is this so important? In the future, this is the basis for nearly all other higher math they will use.
Watch DOGS volunteer, Tony Voss works with students in 1st grade on a phonics activity. We still have lots of time left for you to be a Watch DOG at our school. The students love the extra help and attention, the teachers love the positive influence, and your student will be so proud to share you with his/her friends!
