Welcome to Broadway Elementary
Celebrating 75 Years of Effective Citizenship!
(1933-2008)
Broadway Elementary School in Gladewater, Texas, was built during the 1933-34 school year. Oil had recently been discovered in the area, and the city of Gladewater grew to over 10,000 population in a matter of months. At the time it was built at a cost of $800,000, Broadway was one of the largest elementary campuses in the state with over one thousand students in grades 1-5.
Today the stately building with its red tile roof is the second and third grade campus for Gladewater County Line Independent School District. Approximately, three hundred and twenty-five students attend Broadway this year.
Broadway Elementary has been recognized by the state for outstanding academics over the recent years. The faculty and staff are proud of the students' accomplishments.
